Great piece, man. I cringed reading the thought pieces on how this was the most diverse Academy Awards ever. Hollywood produces more ableist garbage & ableist celebrities than any other industry. Its stories are stale, revenge fantasy “git ‘er done” bullshit that is at the very id of Trump’s base. Everyone with vision and talent left film to make television years ago and most of what’s left attends this annual circle jerk each year to pretend they still lend something of progressive value to pop culture.
